Autonomous Algae Harvesters

Transforming Algae Pollution Into Sustainable Resources

Our mission is simple but powerful: From algae bloom to algae boom. We're turning one of New Zealand's biggest water problems into a platform for environmental and economic gain. What started as a plan to clean our own lake has grown into a scalable technology with global potential.

Problem & Opportunity

Across New Zealand - and in countries everywhere - lakes are choking on algae blooms. It poisons water, kills fish, and costs councils millions every year in temporary fixes. The status quo is ugly and expensive and yet demand for clean water and restored ecosystems has never been higher. This is both an environmental emergency and a multi-billion-dollar market opportunity.

Solution

We're building a new solution: autonomous algae harvesters. Think of them as floating robots that skim, separate, and recover algae - cleaning water efficiently and collecting biomass we can sell. They are scalable, mobile, and low-cost. And crucially, they turn the worst part of the lake into our raw material.

Value Proposition

The value proposition is simple: we fix the water, we sell the algae. Councils get clean lakes, which means fewer complaints, better public health, and thriving ecosystems. Farmers, ag companies, and manufacturers get access to a steady stream of algae-based raw material for fertilizer, bioplastics, and even nutraceuticals. What used to be sludge is now revenue.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you're interested in partnering, investing, or learning more about the project, please reach out via our contact page on the website or email Garret directly. We welcome collaborations from councils, farmers, manufacturers, and anyone passionate about turning algae pollution into sustainable resources.

  • They are mobile, low-cost robots that skim the surface of lakes to efficiently separate and recover algae, clearing harmful blooms and turning algae into useful biomass.

  • The collected algae biomass is processed and converted into valuable products like fertiliser, bioplastics, and nutrients, turning a pollutant into a sustainable resource.

  • They help restore lakes by removing harmful algae blooms that poison water and kill fish, improving water quality and supporting healthier ecosystems with minimal ongoing costs.

  • Yes, the technology is designed to be scalable and mobile, with global potential to address algae pollution in lakes and water bodies worldwide.
